VOIP RecorderMacintosh Install Guide |
VOIP Recorder for Macintosh requires OS X 10.5 or 10.6 (Leopard or Snow Leopard).
To Begin, Save the .pkg File To Your Desktop. Easy Enough, Right? Installing on the Mac is very easy.

Next, double-click that pkg file to run the installer. It works like any other installer so we won't go through each step here. When it opens it will look like this:

After clicking through the README and license information the installer will prompt you for the Macintosh administrative password. It needs this to install VOIP Recorder in the /Applications directory.
You will know it has installed correctly when you get the success screen.

To start VOIP Recorder open your applications folder (Finder Shift-Command-A), and locate VOIP Recorder in it. Double click on it to start the program. If you would like to store this program somewhere else it is perfectly fine to drag it to another folder.
The first time you start it up VOIP Recorder may take as much as three minutes for the window to appear. VOIP Recorder is exploring your network looking for the Vonage™ ATA during this time. Subsequent starts will be much faster.
VOIP Recorder is only running when the window appears. To access the web console simply click the Launch Web Console button or type the displayed URL into your favorite browser. To shutdown VOIP recorder select Quit (or Command-Q) from the File menu.
You should always shutdown VOIP Recorder before turning off your computer. Failure to do so could result in a short interruption in your phone service. The Vonage™ ATA will figure out your computer's absence after just a few minutes and things will repair themselves - but it is best to shut the software down normally to prevent that. Any calls currently in progress when VR is shutdown will be interrupted, but the phone should otherwise resume working immediately. A call that was started before VOIP recorder was booted will not be recorded.
Using the web console is the same for all platforms: Windows, Mac, and Linux. See the general Operation Guide for instructions on how to use the console. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "default" (Do not type the quotation marks.).
